Released for the year 1999- 2000, the Air Jordan Shoes XV came out at a time when Michael Jordan retired from basketball. It was decided that even if MJ is out of the hardcourt, they would still continue to produce the Jordan brand Shoes . An inspiration was needed and so Tinker Hatfield thought of one. What came out is something inspired by the X-15 fighter plane which broke many speed records just like Michael Jordan broke records in the NBA. Another obvious feature is the tongue of the AJ XV which when you think about it, resembles Michael Jordan's habit of sticking his tongue out whenever he goes for a shot. Other features that are included – hidden quick lace system, Kevlar mesh uppers, full grain leathers with breathable leather pattern, an injected TPR heel counter, Zoom Air Units in the forefoot and heel, rubber herringbone pads, and an inner sleeve with a seamless construction.
